Business Administrative Technology

The demand for professionals who can effectively use computers and software programs to improve communication and optimize business operations is becoming increasingly prominent. Students in our Business Administrative Technology program will gain the knowledge and skills to stay on the cutting edge of today’s demanding workplace.
From spreadsheets and accounting to word processing and database management, the program at SATC will teach you to harness the power of technology to accomplish a wide range of business-related tasks. Whether your goal is to be an entrepreneur developing a successful business of your own or supervising an entire department, this program will give you the tools you need for immediate success in the current job market and the ability to easily adapt as the industry continues to change.

This program has three areas of concentration to choose from:

Marketing/Management: This pathway prepares you for a future in business, with an emphasis in marketing and management. Students will be introduced to marketing techniques, advanced accounting practices and management theories.

Desktop Management: As businesses learn to do more with less, employees with both administrative and desktop management skills are increasingly valuable. You’ll learn desktop management, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.

Medical Front Office: As a graduate of the Medical Front Office pathway, you’ll be trained in all business needs of a medical facility, including administrative aspects, medical terminology and insurance billing and coding.

What You Will Learn

  • Technical, communication, critical thinking and interpersonal/workspace skills necessary for employment
  • Effective oral and written business communication, including listening skills, and customer service skills for employment
  • Knowledge and proficiency with computer software, Internet, e-mail, office procedures, accounting, keyboarding and basic skills for employment
  • Human relations and professional behavior for the workplace, including appropriate business attire and business casual attire, attendance, punctuality, telephone etiquette, business protocols and professionalism
  • Understand the importance of work-related skills such as: Working independently, teamwork, following directions, time management, problem solving and critical thinking

What You Can Do

  • Earn an AAS Degree in 18 Months
