The program at Salina Tech is divided into two components; collision repair and refinishing.  During collision repair, students learn frame straightening and automotive welding as well as receive extensive training over dent repair, part replacement, vehicle construction, and door glass and regulator repair.

The refinishing courses focus on proper surface preparation and painting techniques.  Students will become comfortable with refinishing methods, followed by extensive training with EPA-approved HVLP spray guns used for basecoat urethane paints, tri-stage pearl finishes, and the latest in waterborne paint technology.

Students will learn on some of the latest technology used in industry today.  The refinishing section features the Aidex Virtual Painter for students to hone their painting skills in a safe, environmentally friendly atmosphere.  The collision repair courses feature GMAW welders and a Pro-Spot computerized resistance spot welder for repairing structural damage.  Students will also utilize high-tech computerized estimating systems and the latest technology in frame measuring including laser and sonar diagnostics.
